1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your phone number to verify it, or the basic profile details Google or Telegram share with us if you sign in with them (such as your name and email address). You can also add a name, profile photo, bio and city.

Listing Information: When you post an ad, we collect the listing title, description, price, category, location, and photos you upload.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with our platform, including pages visited, searches performed, and features used.

Listing views: When you open a listing, we note once a day that a person looked at it: with your account if you are signed in, and with the anonymous IDs your browser or the app keeps for our statistics. Sellers see only how many people looked, never who. We keep these notes for 60 days.

Photo Searches: When you search with a photo, we send it to an AI service to recognise the item. We don't save the photo or link it to your account; the words it finds are used as your search, like a search you type.

Device Information: We collect basic device information, such as device type, operating system and browser, to keep the service working and secure. We do not store your IP address: like every website, our servers see it briefly to protect the service from abuse, and do not keep it.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve our marketplace services
• To verify your identity and prevent fraud
• To facilitate communication between buyers and sellers
• To send important service notifications (OTP codes, transaction updates)
• To personalize your experience and show relevant listings
• To process payments when you choose to pay for a service
• To enforce our Terms of Service and protect our community

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

• With other users: Your public profile, listings, and reviews are visible to other users
• With service providers: Trusted providers that help us run the service, such as payment, SMS, hosting, image-storage and AI providers. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
• For legal compliance: When required by Ethiopian law or to protect our rights and safety

4. Data Security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure sign-in tokens. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. Listing data is retained for 30 days after expiration. You may request account deletion by contacting support@quralew.et.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information at any time from your account settings. To request data deletion, contact us at support@quralew.et.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the platform or via SMS.
